Charles T. Wilson, Sr. organized C.T. Wilson Construction Company in 1952. Our first customers were public school boards in eastern North Carolina. Under C.T. Wilson's guidance the company grew and was incorporated as a C corporation in 1955 in the State of North Carolina. It has retained this organizational structure since that date. C.T. Wilson, Sr. died in 1995 and Charles T. Wilson, Jr. has been the sole stockholder since 1996.

The corporation has done approximately seventy-five percent of its work in the public arena and by properly serving its clients has experienced quality growth in its fifty-year history. The current corporate officers are as follows:

Charles T. Wilson, Jr. President and Treasurer

James R. Clayton, III Vice President and Secretary

Charles T. Wilson, III Vice President and Assistant Secretary

We have assisted owners and architects over the years by performing pre-construction services, which include preliminary job cost, preliminary scheduling, value engineering, and sub contractor selection. Our work in these areas has made it possible for owners to have better projects than they would have without these pre construction services. Most of this work was done under the description of general contractor but were performed in a manner which today would be described as construction management related services.

Throughout our over fifty year history we have performed extensive pre construction and construction services as a general contractor. Much of this work would qualify in today's definition as the work of a construction manager. We feel that our knowledge and experience in these areas has allowed us to successfully perform construction management at risk services in today's building environment.

C.T. Wilson Construction Company has specialized in projects involving additions to existing buildings and or renovations of existing buildings. Many of these projects have been additions and renovations to educational facilities.

Charles Wilson Jr. has been actively involved in the development of the CM at Risk program with the University system through his association with the State Building Commission and as president of the Carolinas Branch of the Associated General Contractors of America. Mr. Wilson has also helped develop the City of Durham MBE program and serves on the Durham MWBE Advisory Committee.
