The preferred site for the new UNC Medical Education Building is the Berryhill Hall site. Berryhill Hall currently houses a vivarium that will be migrated to other facilities. A series of renovations in McGavran Greenberg Hall, Coker Hall, the Genetic Medicine Research Building, and the Medical Biomolecular Research Building are planned to accommodate the Berryhill vivarium. This project is scheduled to start mid-November and is anticipated to be completed by the Summer of 2019. The work is planned in four phases.
