Description:

The project consisted of several independent items required to upgrade the facility to meet ADA guidelines and the N.C. Accessibility Code as follows: 1. The renovation of both the male and female toilet rooms at the north end of the building on each of the six floors. This work consisted of replacing and relocating toilet fixtures, installing new toilet partitions, installing new ceilings and lighting, adding handicap accessible water coolers and repairing finishes. The work was performed in two phases between legislative sessions to maintain active restrooms and meet owner requirements. 2 The installation of new handrails at an exterior ramp. 3 New Casework in the print shop and mailroom. 4 The dais in the large in Committee Rooms on the fifth and sixth floors were modified for the use with a portable wheelchair lift.
