Description:In the midst of the main renovation of the campus at 807 E. Main Street, Scientific Properties and the City of Durham initiated a collaboration to bring two urban-renewal departments of the city government into the heart of the renewal going on at the Golden Belt.
The nearly twin 10,000 square foot upfits on floors Two and Three of the East side of the building offered time-worn factory floors, leaking towers, and bricked up windows. C.T. Wilson rose to the challenge of balancing the construction of new state of the art office space within highly textured existing fabric. Of particular note was how we got to work the walls and systems in and around the third floor old factory monitor clerestory with original pulleys for factory left intact. |
