Description:

North Carolina Central University selected us to convert the Hubbard Chemistry Classroom Building into an administrative office building for various university departments. The work consisted of removing 90% of the interior walls for all three floors and removing all of the scientific equipment and ductwork that was used when it was a chemistry classroom building. We also replaced most of the HVAC and electrical systems and had to fill in numerous openings that were abandoned when this equipment was removed. We then reconstructed all the necessary finishes so that the university could use it as an administrative office building. We used a fast-track delivery system and worked closely with the university, since they designed this building with their own in-house forces. It was successfully completed in a timely manner and continued a relationship we have had with the university since the 1960’s.
