Description:

The C.C. Spaulding Elementary School construction project was a two year phased project which involved both new construction and renovation work. The new construction included a 20,000 sf two story addition, with extensive sitework including many retaining walls, over 30,000sf of concrete sidewalks and playgrounds, new utilities, new driveways and parking lots, and a new underground storm water detention system. The renovation portion of the work included updating the existing two story 50,000 sf building. In this area CT Wilson performed asbestos abatement on all floor tile, revised room and wall layout in areas, and carried out general renovations on all areas. The C.C. Spaulding Elementary School project was divided into 4 phases so that construction could be completed while students were in session. C.T. Wilson worked closely with Durham Public Schools to develop the construction phasing plan so that the work could be completed successfully with minimal disruption.
