Description:The Duke School sought to consolidate two separate facilities into one new state of the art campus on the edge of the Duke Forest. This involved carefully building on the side of a rural slope. Phase I comprised three skylit open-styled energy efficient classroom buildings and a large gymnasium for the Middle School in the back of the new campus. Phase II added two large pre-school aged buildings and renovated three existing buildings for the Lower School Campus.
CT Wilson worked with DTW Architects, the Subcontractors, and the Duke School students, faculty, and administration in a hands-on building process that led to a new unified campus that looks at home in between the adjacent historic farm and the nearby forest. |
