Description:

This project was completed as a Construction Management project. It was a multi-phase complicated renovation that involved a large amount of weekend, off hour and shut down work. Prior to the contract being signed C.T. Wilson was involved in project review, cost modeling, value analysis and scheduling. The contract included several milestones each with their own completion dates. This project expanded the manufacturing space for one of the pharmaceutical products made by Biomerieux. A portion of the existing warehouse was converted to manufacturing space by adding a 2000 sf mezzanine that consisted of a steel structure with a cast in place concrete deck. The mezzanine level was used as a mechanical and equipment space and the former warehouse space under the mezzanine was converted into a clean manufacturing area. The project also involved renovating the existing manufacturing line and adding two large Air Handling units and a steel structure to the roof. The new steel frame and concrete slab mezzanine were completed during the Christmas shut down and another large portion of the renovation work was done over the July Fourth week shutdown. Crews worked two twelve-hour shifts during the July 4th week in order to complete the renovations in the existing manufacturing area. The early coordination and constant project control allowed us to meet the milestones set in the pre construction phase. C.T. Wilson Construction Company and the sub contractors have worked with the owner to minimize the impact of the construction on production in the plant which remained operational. Owner requested change orders were incorporated into the schedule as they arose and did not add any additional days to the project length.
